Learning to Play Casino Red Dog

Where to Play Red Dog For US Casino Players

Red Dog is a classic casino card game is sometimes referred to as In Between or Acey Deucy. Red Dog is not only very easy to learn but is found at most online casinos accepting US players.
How to Play Red Dog

The game is played using a standard 52 deck of cards, with each player receiving three cards. The object of the game is to guess whether the third card will be in between the two already laid on the table. There is absolutely no strategy used in this game, nor can you predict the outcome but when the spread on the table is in your favour the game can turn a profit.

To begin playing Red Dog you will need to ante first followed by the dealer providing you with two cards. Once the cards have been dealt a marker will be placed signalling the spread of the two cards dealt as well as the house edge. The player will than need to choose whether they continue the hand with the initial wager or they want to bet on the spread as well. The spread bet means you will be betting on whether your third card will fall in between the first two cards. As an example if you received a 3 and a 10, the hand will receive a spread of 7 and you will be betting on whether the third card dealt to you will fall between these two cards. Given the numbers and the spread, your third card would need to be a 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, or 9 in order to win the bonus payout. If you didn’t bet on the spread but your hand still qualifies you will be paid based on your initial wager at a rate of 1:1. If you did bet the spread you will receive 1:1 on your initial wager and a second payout based on the chart below. The smaller the spread, the bigger the payout.

What is the Red Dog Spread?

Red Dog uses a spread which is basically the cards you have available to make your hand, followed by the odds of hitting those cards at which point the house will provide you with the house edge of hitting it. The spread used while playing Red Dog online is based on the number of cards that fall in between the first two. Each card has a value ranging from 2 – 10 or face value, J = 11, Q = 12, K = 13, and an Ace will count as 14. To calculate the spread the dealer will take the two initial cards dealt, and subtract the card value so a 10 and 3 would give you 7. The only time the spread isn’t relative is when a player receives two consecutive cards, i.e. a 6 and 7. If that happens the hand will be declared a tie and the raise is returned to the player. The initial bet is lost on all ties.
